K-12 Schools
McKinley STEMM Academy — Toledo, OH
Through the Ohio STEM Learning Network Design Challenge, McKinley STEMM Academy (Toledo Public Schools) won a Green Energy Machine! SPN delivered the system on a blustery day this fall. This is our first partner school is northwestern Ohio — we can’t wait to see how McKinley builds on their work from the Design Challenge!
st. paul school — salem, oh
Through the Ohio STEM Learning Network Design Challenge, St. Paul School won a Green Energy Machine to continue the students’ remarkable journey through STEM education. Our partnership with St. Paul School is SPN’s first foray into northeastern Ohio and our first project within an Appalachian county.
westerville city schools — Westerville, OH
Mr. Chapman led a solar-focused summer program with students from all over Westerville City Schools. To better explore solar-powered homes, and the science, technology, engineering and math behind them, this program used a Green Energy Machine to bring solar into the classroom!
Indianola informal k-8 — columbus, Oh
Indianola Informal K-8 is a model partner — its students, teachers and administrators recently earned a GreenSpot Award, which is given to schools that have taken steps to educate students and staff about sustainability, recycling, and green transportation, and the positive impact they can have in the neighborhoods they live in.
Working within Columbus City Schools is also an exciting opportunity for Columbus-based Shared Power Network, as it is the largest school district in the state. The Green Energy Machine, SPN’s mobile solar kit, will make an immediate impact in the school’s classrooms!

Noble Academy Columbus— Columbus, OH
Noble Academy Columbus and Shared Power Network finalized a 1.2-kilowatt system in May 2020. Navigating through the uncertain early months of COVID-19 proved to be difficult in terms of material procurement and scheduling, but the team pulled through!
Prior to the installation, Shared Power Network and Noble Academy’s middle school science teacher attended a seminar by the National Energy Education Development in Chicago, Illinois. The seminar brings together teachers from schools with solar installations to support the inclusion of these installations in day-to-day classroom activities and learning. Noble Academy’s installation will provide decades worth of learning experiences for generations of students.
This installation started producing power on Tuesday, May 26, 2020.
DILEY MIDDLE SCHOOL — PICKERINGTON, OH
Diley Middle School and Shared Power Network completed a project totaling approximately one kilowatt (1 kW) of solar. Before finalizing the installation, in early 2020 pre-COVID, Shared Power Network met with the 5th grade class to host a ‘Solar 101’ assembly and field questions from the students.
We want to thank Ecohouse Solar for installing the project and working with the City of Pickerington to make the project happen.
Kettering CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT — Kettering, OH
Kettering STEAM and Shared Power Network initially teamed up to customize our mobile solar kit, the Green Energy Machine, for the students of Oakview Elementary School to better understand solar energy, electricity, circuits and how seasonality and weather affect the solar panel.
To gear up for the 2021-2022 school year, Kettering STEAM fundraised for two more Green Energy Machines and utilized our machines during 2021 summer programming at:
Oakview Elementary School
J. F. Kennedy Elementary School
Indian Riffle Elementary School
Orchard Park Elementary School
Southdale Elementary School
J. E. Prass Elementary School
Riverside Elementary School — DUblin, OH
Shared Power Network collaborated to work with the Climate Change student group at Riverside Elementary. These students elected to raise funds for Shared Power Network through their own awareness campaign in conjunction with the See Kids Dream program!
Educational Nonprofits
The past foundation — columbus, OH
Students took part in a 6-week summer program at the PAST Innovation Lab to learn more about agricultural technology (mimicking Martian conditions, no less). This team utilized the Green Energy Machine to better understand the potential for solar-powered equipment on the red planet. We may never get a GEM to Mars, but this is close!
city of kettering department of parks, recreation and cultural arts (PLay Kettering) — Kettering, Oh
